The selectividad is approaching and it is crucial to get a good grade that will open the doors to the career you are most interested in studying. Sometimes it happens that when you finish the exams and consult your marks, the result you get is lower than you expected. That is why today we are going to tell you in detail everything you need to know when requesting an exam revision in Selectividad, as well as what can happen once the exam has been revised.
What do you need to request a review of your exam?
To request a review, you can generally do so either in person or online. This depends on each autonomous community, so we recommend that you check beforehand. For both options you need to present your identity card or other official document attached to the request for review. If you wish to attend in person and are unable to do so, another person may process the application on your behalf as long as you request an authorisation, sign it and attach a photocopy of your ID card.
Application deadlines
The deadline for requesting a review of the Selectividad exam is always 3 working days from the date of publication of the marks in each Autonomous Community. Therefore, once you have obtained your results and they have been officially published, you must be very attentive to process your request in the next few days.
Review procedure
Regarding the revision process of your exam, it is very important that you know that there are two ways to revise each test. Depending on which one you choose, you may obtain completely different results:
- Complaint to the organising committee: in this mode, a different teacher from the first correction will check that all the answers are correctly marked, verify that all the questions are evaluated on the basis of the general evaluation criteria and that the sum of points is correctly calculated. In this mode of marking, your mark is not allowed to drop, just a general review is carried out to ensure a good marking.
- Second marking of the exam: this second marking mode, unlike the previous one, involves a second teacher who is an expert in the subject and re-evaluates the entire exam. With the mark obtained, the arithmetical average between the first mark obtained and the second mark is taken to determine the final mark for the test. Therefore, this modality may mean that your mark may be lower. If there is a difference of 2 or more points between the two assessments, a third correction will be made by another board.
What happens when your test is reviewed?
Each test is reviewed within a maximum of 5 working days from the date of the deadline for submission of applications. Thereafter, you have the right to see the corrected test after the second marking within 10 days.
Before requesting a review, please note that…
If you request a second marking, your final mark may be lower than the one you originally obtained. This is why we recommend that you think carefully about your decision beforehand, as it could have consequences on your final average.
If you have requested a revision but you are in a hurry to present your results in a university pre-enrolment, attach the certificate of request of claim and second correction and you will be able to enrol in any Spanish university.
After having requested a second revision and having reviewed your corrected exam, you cannot proceed to any type of extra modification. The grade obtained is always the final grade.
