Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de África

The CMA has 160 rooms and operates 365 days a year on a full board basis, 7 days a week. Includes room cleaning service, washing and ironing of bed linen, as well as individual clothing items (included in the monthly pension). Additionally, there are automatic coin-operated washing machines and dryers for personal use.

The Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de África was created by Decree 2,761, of July 27, 1964. By virtue of this, the College was attached to the Complutense University, being

considered a Foundation of the Presidency of the Government and governed by the Society of Jesus. Starting in 1975, administrative changes and reforms would impact the existence of the Mayor, until in 1981 it became dependent on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thus losing any religious orientation.

Throughout the last academic years, the School has been organizing cycles of conferences, seminars, conferences, courses, exhibitions, theater performances, cinema and music cycles. As an example of the cultural atmosphere prevailing in El Mayor, it is worth mentioning the participation in our activities of Fernando Savater, José Antonio Labordeta, Luis Eduardo Aute, Mario Benedetti, Rafael Rodríguez Ponga, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, Mónica Carrillo, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, Luis Antonio de Villena, Fernando García Delgado, Miguel Óscar Menassa, among others.

In this way, the Nuestra Señora de África College contributes to the comprehensive training of all its residents, promoting the academic, scientific, cultural, human and social training of its students and guaranteeing an effective and real environment of study, coexistence, tolerance and mutual respect.
